NEW Carbon Monoxide Detector Mandate In January 2022, the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Office of Public and Indian Housing (PIH) released PIH Notice 2022-01 requiring the use of carbon monoxide detectors in certain units receiving federal rental assistance. This notice is to inform all owners/managers/landlords that receive Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) that compliance is mandatory no later than December 27th, 2022. https://www.augustapha.org/carbon-monoxide-detectors-mandate/

*Attention Landlords/Agents* Rental increase requests – A copy of the notice sent to the family must also be sent to AHA. In order to comply with the Housing Assistance Payment Contract, the owner must serve the family and AHA with a written notice listing the newly proposed rent at least sixty (60) days in advance of the next annual reexamination date. Remember, a copy of the notice sent to the family must also be sent to AHA. For your convenience, rental increase requests can be submitted using the Landlord Portal.
